Felted scarves

My own special technique for felting scarves which allows me to make them soft, diaphanous and just the perfect thing for summer wear. You can put them in a purse and then pull them out to put around your neck when the air conditioning gets a little much. I love them and these would also be good to wear in the winter for just that "little" bit of warmth under a blouse or sweater.

This is one that is merino and silk.  It really shows up so shiny and nice.

These are a few of the scarves I did one afternoon which have ribbon in them as well as the merino silk.  It is so much fun to make these and fairly easy.  The longest time it takes is laying out the designs in unique manner.  The trick is in how I felt them which allows me to make them fairly quickly.

I have been working on new ideas and am getting ready for the OFFF (Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival). I am planning on getting a booth and marketing some of the new and different ideas I have for green creations.

NO KNITTING!!!!!

I am so frustrated because I have been forced not to knit because I would be bending my elbow too much. They think I hve and ulnar neuropathy or trapped nerve because of the numbness and tingling I have in my left little and ring fingers. Well, I gues that will mean that I have to start carding and spinning instead. I will be so happy when I get the things done that I need so I can get out there and sell some of my products.

Going a little batty!

I have been very busy doing up some batts this weekend. I have made up some crazy batts and some for other kind of spinning. It is time to get down to work and make up what I have and to get things out on the store. There is too much time for messing around.

Pink blingy batt

I also did a little dyeing, here is a little batt 1.5 oz that looks kinda fun. Would make some nice thin yarn if plied with some thread or core plied.

Extreme sheep herding

I just found this video and almost bust my britches laughing. It was a mad dash to the bathroom if you know what I mean. The coordination between dogs, sheep and man were incredible and I think this is absolutely hysterical.

Dyeing, Carding, Designing, oh my

I just got my carder this week and oh my, it is huge. It is 18" across and makes megafibric batts. Each day I learn a little more. A short fiber here, a long fiber there, a mixed media batt OH MY. There is just so much for me to try. So, dug out some fiber so I can do some general dyeing and get ready for making batts and taking pictures. Sometimes there are too many ideas in my head that I can't keep them straight. I think I am going to have to start a journal to keep them from getting lost in the schematics of my electrical system.

Just too much fun, If they don't sell now, maybe later.
